PPE
In an ILB there is little of real substance to stand between you and the elements. Consequently it is imperative that each crewmember has absolute faith in the effectiveness of their Personal Protective Equipment. With this in mind, during the early stages of training up new crew members, they are encouraged into the water to find out for themselves just how good the kit is. And it is good, almost the best that money can buy. Of course some of our crew just can't get enough of this sort of thing and test their kit at every opportunity! Hence this photo from last Sunday.
For those for whom these sort of things matter; the helmets are made by Gecko, the lifejackets by crewsaver, undersuits by Musto and the drysuits by Typhoon. All flares by Pains Wessex.

What a great photo, John!
Could you please, offer someday more information on those RNLI helmets?
