Paddling my backyard

Along with many others I had plans for some recreation this weekend. And great it was too. The plan was to paddle from Weymouth to Lulworth with Mark R, take some photos and play around as close inshore as possible. We achieved all this and it was glorious to be in amongst the rocks, seaweed and waves on such a fine day. Luckily we had no mishaps and arrived in Lulworth under blue skies, ready for tea and cake.

The color of the sky as far as I can see is coal grey.
Lift my head from the pillow and then fall again.
With a shiver in my bones just thinking about the weather.
A quiver in my lips as if I might cry.
Well by the force of will my lungs are filled and so I breathe.
Lately it seems this big bed is where I never leave.
Shiver in my bones just thinking about the weather.
Quiver in my voice as I cry,
"What a cold and rainy day. Where on earth is the sun hid away."

Lucky you getting afloat - I've been trapped ashore for the past 2 weekends. The wind guage at Inverness airport which is a mile and half from the cottage is gusting between F8 - 10 as I type (www.xcweather.co.uk) ;-)

Hello John, even the WWW has deserted me. Not only was last night so very windy, I have a really bad chest infection and have not been out for 3 weekends now. So it's great to see some southern sunshine!

We certainly had a great weekend of it. The weather has been fabulous and Mark and I got our paddle in just before the wind stepped up a gear. It's now bitterly cold and windy still with some hints of snow.

We're thinking of you suffering north of the border!
